RADT vs CADC

RADT is the entry-level registration required before beginning supervised counselor work in a DHCS-licensed program. CADC is the certified counselor tier reached after completing education, supervised hours, and examination.

Structural differences

• RADT: registration only. Allows supervised practice while pursuing certification.
• CADC: full certification. Reached after RADT plus additional education, hours, and exam.
